Senior C++ Systems Engineer
- Den Haag, Netherlands
- Innovation
Job description
Are you a seasoned engineer who thrives on designing high-performance systems from the ground up? Do you have a deep understanding of both software design and the low-level intricacies of modern C++? If you're looking for a role that lets you shape the foundation of mission-critical radar systems, we’d love to talk.
As a C++ Systems Engineer on our Innovation Team, you’ll be responsible not only for implementing cutting-edge real-time algorithms but also for architecting scalable, maintainable software systems that push the boundaries of performance and reliability. You’ll work at the intersection of embedded systems, mathematical computing, and modern C++, taking ownership of core components and guiding them from concept to deployment. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technology, developing cutting-edge electronic systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimize C++ real-time algorithms.
Design high-performance, memory-efficient systems, optimized for execution on both embedded and GPU platforms.
Lead technical design discussions, define software architecture, and ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.
Collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and signal processing experts to integrate software deeply into our radar platforms.
Document algorithms, design decisions, and architecture for clarity and maintainability.
Drive continuous improvement across the development lifecycle — from build systems to deployment tooling.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies to continuously enhance our systems.
Job requirements
A background (M.Sc.) in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
Deep proficiency in modern C++ (C++14/17/20)
Strong knowledge of low-level system performance, profiling, and hardware-aware optimization.
Comfortable working in Linux-based environments, including tooling, scripting, and debugging.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
A collaborative attitude with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic team environment.
A mindset rooted in ownership, transparency, and collaboration.
Additionally, depending on the role and its responsibilities we may request a certificate of conduct (VOG) before or during the employment period. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
