Lead PCB QA Engineer
- Den Haag, Netherlands
- Innovation
Job description
You are part of Robin's R&D Innovation Team, where you will lead the quality, industrialization and lifecycle management of our advanced RF and mixed-signal PCB assemblies.
Our high-performance radar systems rely on complex, high-end electronics, including multilayer stack-ups, controlled-impedance routing, and critical RF circuitry, far from commodity hardware.
You will provide senior technical leadership across the entire PCBA lifecycle, spanning from late-stage prototyping and NPI preparation through design transfer, production ramp-up, EMS supplier management and long-term sustaining support.
This role offers an opportunity to work on truly unique, high-end hardware, challenging experienced QA engineers beyond mainstream consumer electronics.
Responsibilities
Lead the transition of complex PCB designs from late-stage prototyping into stable, high-yield series production.
Own DFM/DFT verification and collaborate with engineering to ensure designs are fully production-ready.
Define, review, and maintain comprehensive production data packages.
Develop detailed test plans, test procedures, and automated/bench setups.
Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) and validation testing.
Act as the senior technical interface for EMS partners, focusing on manufacturability, process robustness, and yield improvements.
Review AOI/ICT coverage, reflow processes, solder quality and process capability data.
Own PCBA change control, revision management, ECO processes, and safeguard product quality throughout its entire lifecycle.
Champion continuous improvement of QA processes, release workflows and documentation standards.
Job requirements
BSc/MSc in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering of related areas.
Extensive experience with PCBA production, industrialization and quality assurance.
Solid background in test development, FAI, structured debugging, and release processes.
Strong understanding of PCB design principles, assembly processes, and electronic component technologies.
Hands-on experience with high-end, high-complexity PCBAs, ideally including RF, high-speed, or mixed-signal circuits.
Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent PCB CAD tools.
Previous experience working with and managing EMS/production partners.
Strong analytical and documentation skills, with a meticulous and structured approach to quality.
Fluency in English, Dutch is considered a plus.
