Are you passionate about ensuring ethical and compliant international trade?
We're seeking a dedicated Exports Control Officer to be a be a key player in safeguarding our global operations! You will ensure our company's strict compliance with all national and international export control laws and regulations, playing a vital role in preventing the unauthorized export of goods that could have military, security, or economic implications.
Responsibilities
You'll take ownership of ensuring compliance with all relevant Dutch and international export laws and regulations, with a focus on navigating country-specific controls.
You'll manage the entire export licensing process with Dutch Customs, from application to ongoing compliance.
You'll establish and maintain comprehensive export records, ensuring they meet the highest standards for audits and government inspections.
You'll lead product classification efforts, collaborating closely with Engineering and Product Management to accurately identify and control sensitive items.
You'll implement and execute robust restricted party screening procedures to safeguard our operations and reputation.
You'll proactively assess and mitigate export-related risks, developing effective strategies to minimize potential disruptions.
You'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our Internal Compliance Program (ICP) and Export Control Management system.
You'll develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on export control policies and procedures.
You'll conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to our ICP, providing clear and actionable reports to leadership.
You'll serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
You'll assist in investigations and disclosures, ensuring prompt and thorough resolution of any compliance issues.
Job requirements
BA/MSc or HBO degree in International Business, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
Over 5 years of experience in export compliance, trade regulations, or legal roles, preferably in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, technology, pharmaceuticals).
Knowledge of Visual Compliance and Hubspot.
In depth knowledge of Export Regulations (EU, UK, US, etc.)
Experience with restricted party screening and product classification for export compliance procedures.
Fluency in both Dutch and English.
Proactive, hands-on mentality, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a structured approach to addressing issues in a timely manner.
Ethical judgment and integrity, ensuring the company’s compliance at all times.
Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
