Job description

As a DevOps Engineer you will have the opportunity to directly work on automating the deployment of our software onto our radar products. In other terms, you will support deploying mind blowing radar tech! Your work will be crucial as equipping our radars with the best performing software in an automated way increases capacity, scalability and reliability of our production pipeline.

You will be part of the DevOps team, which is part of the R&D Software Development Team. You will report to the Head of R&D Software Development, who is there to support and guide you.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain our DevOps infrastructure used to test and deploy our software on our radar products in a structured, efficient and fully automated way.

  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce complexity and manual intervention in system operations.

  • Ensure systems are secure by enabling automated security checks and integrating security controls, tools and processes into the workflow.

  • Develop and perform tests to monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of applications and services.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement scalable solutions.

  • Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance performance, security and reduce operational bottlenecks.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure, processes, and tools.

Job requirements

  • BA/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.

  • Over 3 years of experience in DevOps or similar role. 

  • Expert on Linux (Ubuntu) operating system.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket and Jira.

  • Proficiency in:

    • Scripting languages (Python, Bash or similar) and

    • Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm or Argo CD) and

    • Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)

  • Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Docker)

  • Hands-on experience with PXE network installations

  • Strong understanding of IP networks and how to configure, monitor and secure them, as well as system administration.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Be proactive and implement improvements and be able to work in a fast paced environment.

  • A team player who can also work independently and with the ability to communicate well across cultures and backgrounds.

  • You are flexible and know how to tackle a fast-growing and changing company like Robin;

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Good communication skills in English, and it would be great if you speak Dutch as well.

  • Live in The Netherlands, within commuting distance from The Hague.

  • Kubernetes

  • AWX

  • Hands-on knowledge with the major cloud providers
