Job description
You are part of Robin's engineering department, where you work on our flagship radars! Your strengths lie in BOM Management and Technical Product Documentation (TPD), in order to further ensure the stability of the hardware of our radars and the way we work.
You are the technical conscience of the engineering department and the positive influences of your work reach beyond the engineering department, to the Robins at Supply chain, Service & Support, Production and Product Management. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated BOM Management and Configuration Management Specialist to join our team.
The BOM Management and Configuration Management Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensuring effective configuration management throughout the product lifecycle. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of BOM processes and configuration control to support our engineering, supply chain and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
BOM Management:
Develop, manage, and maintain accurate BOMs for various products;
Leading the product completeness of all parts. Acquire datasheets and store them in PLM;
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure BOMs are up-to-date and reflect design changes;
Ensure BOMs are complete with all required components, quantities, and specifications.
Configuration Management:
Implement and maintain configuration management processes and tools;
Track and control product configuration changes, ensuring proper documentation and approval;
Manage product BOM versions and revisions to ensure consistency.
Documentation and Reporting:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to BOMs and configuration and change management.;
Generate release notes for each released BOM;
Support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and production to support BOM and configuration management needs;
Provide guidance to internal stake holder on BOM and configuration management best practices.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;
Proven experience in BOM management and configuration management, preferably in a high tech industry/sector;
Strong understanding of BOM structures, configuration management principles, and relevant software tools (e.g., ERP systems, PLM systems);
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;
Fluency in English;
You live in The Netherlands at commuting distance to The Hague.
